WRITING FOR ONE6/17/2025 I chose writing at a young age of 10 or 11 because I had no friends in school. I wanted to use my writing for self-expression and to discover the things I can do with my thoughts and ideas. Now, I use my writing to externalize my expertise and to share what I've learned through the years. I write for myself. I don't check who unsubscribes, and who's not reading. I don't fret about that. I know that there's a small chance that some are reading me but I don't fret about the number too. It's good to have income from my writing but it's not my main preoccupation. I can write everyday and still be happy about it. That's the unmatched joy. If no one's reading it's their fault, not mine. If it's good enough, it will be enjoyed by some people. That's okay too. When I wrote my first book, I never anticipated a best seller, but a good worthwhile book. I think about what my readers/audience need and what I can provide and go from there. I don't have a complicated way of writing. Just shutting up, being real, collecting thoughts, experiences, and learning, and writing down for others to learn without making similar mistakes. Thanks God for the first press, the cave writings, and the ability of words. I don't know where I would have ended up, without it. Ultimately, I write for myself.

CROWD EGO6/12/2025 Recall at time when you watched a great performance. I was at the conference a few years ago, and the speaker spoke in a TEDX style, with a picture of Martin Luther King's wife and her mother to signal that her family is very impactful and famous. The crowd roared and rose from their seats after her speech. The rest joined the bandwagon and applauded her for a few minutes. For a hundred people in the room, I was the only one that didn't rise, there was no occasion to arise from. The speech is good enough but not that great. The crowd wanted to boost their own egos by showing that they're part of that 'in" group. That 'they really get it!" This was the crowd's performance as much as the speaker's.

DESCRIBE THE REALITY6/10/2025 If people say these words: white supremacy, genocide, ethnic cleansing, postgrowth, apartheid, colonialism, please ask them their definitions. There are many ways to interpret these and many times, these words are used to belong to something, to signal virtually, or to promote an agenda. In this volatile times, you're not just cancelled for not using and believing in these words, you're censured and made to feel that there's something wrong about you! Describe what your seeing in factual terms, not conjectures, not hearsays, opinions of pundits and podcast gurus, and check your sources diligently. Present the reality, and not the label about the reality. That is the start of an honest conversation. |
