YOU'RE WRONG3/16/2026 I was in the room of a university academic official recently and we talked about how I can support their goals of strengthening students' leadership impact. The discussion went off and I told him, "You're wrong. I'm not everything for everybody. I have a specialization and I worked on it for more than 15 years." They needed to be told because they think consultants/advisors/coaches peddling their wares are after their budget and will do anything and everything to get a sale. I'm in the 1% category and I'm fully convinced that if there's no need, it doesn't matter if you're good at this or that, it's not going to be invested on and your work will not be sustained by those who are responsible for the charge daily. Hence, I can walk away with elegance, having said what I have to say. Walk away if you must.

THE WRITE LIFE3/2/2026 After a few weeks of work, I have submitted a grant for two writing projects. Praise God! As they say, 'you'll never get what's available if you're not out-there, trying, exploring, and claiming what's available for the taking.' Don't let others' pessimism, the fear of rejection, and fear of failure dissuade you from moving ahead and trying. If I didn't move to Canada, and applied for a job, and applied for a fellowship program, and wrote my first book, and developed my first business website, where would I be? Where would I be now? Have the courage for the 'write' life.

PRESSURES2/23/2026 If you want to be free from pressures, stop talking about your plans, or goals, or what you will eat tomorrow. Keep it to yourself. If you fail, it's all good. If you succeed, it's all good. If you don't move a thing, it's all good. If you start yapping, the pressure is on and either you're lying to yourself or you just want to blab. Blabbers get found out. |
